Hello Everyone,
It is now time to focus our efforts within our counties, our towns, and our neighborhoods! We are planning many awesome things for the coming year and can’t wait to see the movement spread through the state like wildfire. We plan to build up our subchapters and if a county has nobody active we will go there and have a “Z-Day” there to spread the word, get people active, and make ourselves known statewide. We are talking about barbeques and pot lucks, these will start out as chapter get-togethers but if made open to the public would be a great place to start a conversation.
First off I would like to set up a Snohomish county meeting and would like to start talking about a location and time to get together and start brainstorming for county focused action. We need to come up with ideas to spread awareness and information to everyone in the state. We need to get active in local events with people handing out fliers or setting up booths or just talking to people. AmPmGuy is setting up an adopt a highway and adopt a trail project and we will need volunteers 4 times a year to pick up garbage on the highway or one of the many trails our beautiful state is blessed with. We would like to set up as many of these state wide as possible to get people asking what is zeitgeist…
I will be working hard as the new volunteer subchapter coordinator in the coming weeks building websites and setting up lines of communication with our members state wide to facilitate more coordinated action and focused efforts. I hope this year is the year this movement explodes, and we need to be the catalyst for this to happen. The United States will be the hardest nut to crack for this movement but the west coast is the best place to hit this nut! We must ignite this movement in Washington and spread the fire into Oregon and California; we may be a lot of small sparks now but with GLOBAL climate change and GLOBAL economic collapse in full swing the fire is all but inevitable. Once the west coast becomes millions of members united in spreading awareness the whole country will be much more receptive to some of our more radical ideas… “You really mean no money?” “Nobody owns anything?” “We can easily provide for 15 billion people?” “We can survive without fossil fuels?” …and much less leery of the movement as a whole, or they will call us a bunch of tree hugging hippies as the rest of the world unites around them for the sake of their children and their great grand children’s children.
Again, lets plan a meeting for Snohomish county ASAP and think about a BBQ or hosting a local pot luck at some park or someone’s place. I was thinking about doing something at church creek park in Stanwood but if anyone has a better idea let’s hear about it on the forums!
Peace and love to everyone!
Talk to ya later,
Fuknhippie
